Landrys have been shrimpers, trappers, fishermen, moss peddlers, lumberjacks, and hunters for five generations. The show follows Troy Landry and other cast members as they go about their daily lives in the swamps of Louisiana’s Atchafalaya River Basin, where they hunt American alligators for a living. Landry has a large fan base and followers as a result of his mainstay cast on “Swamp People,” a reality TV show on the history channel. On the other hand, his profession has made him a television celebrity. Swamp People follows the daily life of a Louisiana native who lives in the Atchafalaya River Basin swamp and hunts American alligators for a living. Landry does not go gator hunting for thrills or pleasure it is a family business that pays the bills. Landry pursues and kills the Alligator in their natural habitat.
